I hate

all festivals.

I love Christmas only becuase I love December..or that time of the year when the sunshine is more golden, the wind more Champagne like, and everyone seem happy. Where people gather in large crowds, where there is too much of food and drink, it makes me ill. I celebrate it , no more than I play along.

Avurudhu . I don't mind celebrating it. in fact I'm all for keeping the traditions alive. There's something about being with my mother that makes it special. and there are cousins i see only on rare occasion. I like it when the flowers bloom and it rains cats and dogs, and my sister gets in to a baking spell and my mother becomes obsessed with kokis and mung kevum and stuff. I am all for mung kevum too. I just can't stand the crowd. I can stand them for like, say two hours and then, headache.

All festivities are marked by crowds. consisting of relatives, friends of your parents..who at some point will , mark my words, start on your case. and then they get drunk . then you have to shush some of them. and they get offended . I offended my uncle last year. Good thing too.

On the work front, my client as a habit gets in to Avurudhu mode by spending a thumping amount on an Avurudhu campaign. Executed by yours truly with another couple of partner agencies. Standing in the Sun , looking at the branding, chatting to sampling guys who at the end of the day become more like buddies, wondering why , why do we all get together and commercialize Avurudhu, I can't help feeling a little sick.

That izzz it. I think..for now.
